There was a poor weather forecast for Aboyne today, with an 85% chance of rain - hardly worth riggining…
Good job the Duo Discus XT (26) and the Discus 2cT (R6) were rigged then!
Mark Durden and Mick Boydon took off into an overcast sky with a low level line of wispy cloud at 1400 feet. Mick was tempted to release, but hung on to 1800 feet. They then followed the Dee Valley almost to Balmoral at 3500 feet - oh so smooth and gentle. Things gradually improved and the 8/8 top cover slowly rose to 10,200 feet!
Luke, Adrian, Humza and Dmitry also all flew in R6, 335 and HXU, and we logged another 8 hours. No badge claims from today, but a real bonus flying day considering the forecast!
