Sadly my call to arms and 70 launches proved to be too far. However, we failed in a spectacular way.

The weather turned out to be superb with 5 knot averages to 4,700 feet and the ridge working well enough to almost guarantee getting away from an 800 foot winch launch into the thermals.

We achieved 27 launches and 28 hours 55 minutes of flight time. On occasions, all 7 gliders were airborne.

Star of the day was Dan Kearney, who bravely stuck it out on the ridge for the last hour of his 5 hours. Well done, Dan.

Jon Davidson also spent the day at Latham inspecting a potential new glider - a Libelle!
