The airfield was serviceable at last!
After a delayed start, a small but brave team took to the field and set up in the blustery westerly, dodging the showers. As predicted, the ridge was working in phases and we managed to get some good soaring and, importantly, renewed currency.
Aided by the duty team of Greg, Gareth, and Tony, we achieved 12 launches and 4 hours 30 minutes of flying.
Hog of the day was David Fothergill, staying aloft for 1 hour 10 minutes.
Lesson of day - prepare the glider for landing and don't forget pre-circuit checks!
Well done to our junior pilots, Will, Cameron and Charlotte who gained valuable experience in the challenging conditions, and we didn't have any cable breaks.
Finally, a big thanks to Luke and Paul who were happy to give their time to instruct.
I suspect Sunday's report might be interesting to read, however, we led the charge into Spring. Fly safe.
