We had a nice early start, with the airfield set up and ready to go before 09:00. Unfortunately, stubborn icing on the wings delayed first launch until 10:06.
Initially the north-westerly wind was not strong enough to declare the ridge as working, but flights of 1 to 15 minutes were possible until 12:00. The wind picked up in the afternoon by a couple of knots and things improved and resulted in a few longer flights.
Tony G was hog of the day with what must have been weak wave to 2700’, which was about a mile off and behind the southern tip of the home ridge.
At the end of the day we had a few aerotows check flights.
A good day with four gliders airborne at times and a total of 16 flights resulting in over 8 hours of flying. Thanks to all who braved the elements and eventually drove safely home in the blizzard.
