We had a total of 32 flights today, with around 18 members flying, 4 UCL students, two guests of two members and a civilian trial flight.
Jon Davidson took an aerotow in his Libelle, JD, and flew locally for over 3 hours, and Neill Atkins flew with his son, Lukas, in the Duo Discus (26) for around 3 hours as well.
Back at Halton, plenty of training flights were made for early solo pilots, including Tom Hartmann, Ben Frampton (who flew solo for the second day via a winch launch) and Dave Kearney, who flew solo after a month away.
The longest flight went to Humza in TC, with 6 hours 42 minutes in the air, narrowly beating Greg in R6, who was airborne for 6 hours and 39 minutes. They both flew down to the Isle of Wight again, before trying to fly the forecasted see breeze convergence to Brighton. They flew around 350km of their planned 410km task before having to concede and use their sustainer engines to come back home. You can see their traces linked below.
