Weekend 9-10th October

Saturday… Bryan reports. The day’s misty start delaying the first launches. However, Al got away to in SF to Bicester to get his first TMG solo trip after his training with Derren. The return of SF saw some serious spinning for Malica, Foggy and David, concluded with Arthur’s first solo A/T. The first 4 of UCL Freshers saw the excitement of taking their initial winch experiences in the safe hands of Mark and Tony at the controls. A big thank you to Greg who did a sterling job as Duty Pilot and Adrian as Assistant DI. Mustn’t forget Luke who did all the tugging and our trusty winch drivers. 42 launches and 8h 12. With Tony H getting hog of the day for his 1hr 18m. Great effort all.

Sunday… Jan reports. After a late start due to the weather we managed to make more than 40 flights! Humza got signed off for BI. And Mark flew several air Experience flights for the UCL Freshers. We flew 8 students around and some of them had a soaring flight! Was nice to see that 4 gliders landed close after each other just before sunset. Lots of Aboyne preparation. Thanks everybody for your efforts today!
